How to take a screenshot on the ZenBook 3 Deluxe

SHARE:

If you’re looking to take a screenshot on the ZenBook 3 Deluxe, we have some simple steps you can follow. Once you’ve gone through these steps, you’ll be able to save whatever’s on your screen as an image to edit, reference later, or share as you see fit.

The easiest way to save a screenshot in Windows 10 is to tap the Start and Prt Sc keys at the same time.

This will capture a full screenshot image file and save it immediately to your Pictures library in a folder called Screenshots.

For a bit more control when taking a screenshot, try the Snipping Tool.

1. Open Snipping Tool.

Just type “Snipping” in the search bar at the bottom of the screen, and click the icon at the top.

2. Click the New button.

Clicking the New button will kick off a new screen capture. You can also click the arrow just to the right of the button to have more fine control over which area is captured: either an area you draw with your mouse, a rectangular area drawn by mouse, a specific window, or a whole screen.

3. Select your screenshot area

Either click the window or select the area you want to screenshot.

4. Mark-up and save

An editing window will provide a preview of the screenshot, and tools to erase parts of the screenshot or draw directly on the screen. Click the diskette icon to save the screenshot.

For absolute control, you can directly copy a screenshot to your clipboard.

This method may also be handy for those times you need to take a screen capture quickly and don’t have the time to launch the Snipping Tool.

1. Open the screen you want to take a screen capture of.

Whether it’s in the browser, in a photo, or in any other app, make sure it’s open, and it’s the active window by clicking the title bar at the top. Sometimes an active window can be something else open in the foreground.

2. Tap the Prt Sc key.

Tapping the Prt Sc key will take the screen capture. You can find it in the top-right of the keybord, to the left of Delete and the power key. Now whatever was on your screen has been saved to what’s known as the clipboard, ready to be pasted into whatever app you like. If you only want one window captured (as opposed to the entire screen), hold the Alt key while hitting PrtScn.

3. Open Paint, or your application of choice.

You can access the default Windows image editing app by typing “Paint” in the search bar in the bottom left, and clicking the Paint icon that appears in the results above. Note that screen captures can be pasted into many other applications too, including Photoshop or directly into an e-mail.

4. Paste the screen capture into Paint.

With Paint open and active, click the Paste icon. Now your screen capture should show up in the main window for Paint.

From here you can add notes using the tools in Paint, or reduce the size by clicking and dragging the bounding boxes on the right and bottom edges of the image. To adjust the position of the image before doing so, chose Select All from the Select menu, then click and drag from the middle of the selection.

5. Save the image

Click the diskette icon in the top-left to save the image whereever you like.
